Paaaaarty time foos.......

So tomorrow night Me and Jen are hosting her cousin Joe's 29th birthday party at our house. No food, bbq, appetizers........basically we getting' down to bid-ness and getting f'uuuuuuuucked up, lol.

I had this plan laid out I devised. I would take Joe our disc-golfing after work until the sun goes down, meanwhile Deanna would be gathering everyone up and people would be showing up and making final preps. So when I came back with Joe at sundown it would kind of be a "suprise" I mean the party itself isn't a suprise, but it would still be kinda neat for him to walk into a house fool of friends/family wishing him a "suprise" happy birthday all at once....haha......

Well as of now I would categorize this plan "in progress" neither Jennifer or Deanna are too excited about this plan because it would involved Me and Joe away from them for an extended amount of time on Friday, and we already did go out and disc golf on wednesday.....but hey it is not a lost hope and I can try to talk them into it tonight and tomorrow while at work.......Lets hope the ladies come around on this...........By the time the party starts I am going to be thiiiiiiiirs-tay!!!

Disc Golf.....

So I have amped up the amount of disc golfing I have been doing over the past couple of months. My brother-in-law got me interested in this sport/activity about five years ago. I used to go through these phases where I would go a bunch within a couple of weeks, and I would show a little improvement, but then end up not going again for a few months at a time, so the little amount of improved skill would usually evaporate.

Over the last couple of months I have gone at least once a week, and usually to courses that have 18 holes/baskets. I have gone as far as grass valley, and can't wait break my cherry on some courses farther away, like Navato, CA & Santa Cruz.

The only problem is that the best time to do this with the group I go with, is on the weekends, and that is always going to cut into family time, which is not something to be cutting into on a regular basis. (well without hearing about it later) It's ok when the course is close to my house because an 18 basket course can be busted out in a couple of hours, but once we start taking road trips to courses that take an hour or more to get to, we run into problems and conflict....

My long distance drive is getting better(but can never be "too long"), but I still need tons of work on my putting. Well isn't that ironic, I just got a text to setup a gameplan for some Friday afternoon disc golfing......I guess that's my que to end this entry.....

Accidents happen.....usually I prefer to do the rear-ending..lol

So I can officially say I have been in a car accident now. It took umm...almost 11 years. Yesterday coming home from work I was about a mile from my house, stopped at a red light, and WHAM....hit from behind. The weird thing was, as the truck was approaching me I kind of noticed he was getting pretty close to me, but it seemed like he was going slow enough to be able to stop. So, at least it was the crappy car that got hit and not the van. So lucky me, I get a free new bumper and a free rental car. Hopefully it takes a long time for them to order and receive the new bumper, lol. The other driver was pretty courteous about it, apologizing and making sure I was alright, and he immediately got his insurance papers out. I think he was driving for work so he was in kind of a hurry to get back on the road. Once I called the insurance companies, they got a hold of him fast and he admitted it was his fault and everything so thank gawd an "investigation" was avoided. Overall I'd have to say it was a pretty positive experience considering the conditions......now.....lets just hope it never happens again.

Espetus.....

Ignore the fact that the word "Espetus" kinda sounds eerily similar to "Asbestos" LOL.

Espetus is a brazilian steakhouse in San Francisco. If you are a meat-eater this place might be your Mecca. It is also a place you are probably going to go to no more than once or twice a year. Be prepared to spend money like you never have before on lunch(or dinner).

I went for lunch with my wife, best friend, and his brother. Even though "steakhouse" is in the title, it is not really what one would consider a traditional steakhouse. It is a buffet of grand proportions. We arrived on time for our 1:00pm reservation and we were seated right away. They basically explain how the place works. There is a salad bar with lots of side dishes, such as potato salad, sliced tomatoes w/basil & olive oil, coleslaw, steamed rice, baked salmon, various meaty stews, guacomole, eggplant etc etc etc. While this in itself could be considered a meal, THE MEAT is what you are there for, and boy are you in for a mountain full of it. The Servers come out of the kitchen which huge chunks of meat on gigantic skewers, which they carve your slice from and you are given a tiny pair of tongs to take the meat and put it on your plate. The host explained that the little plastic disc on our table was actually an indicator for the servers. Keep it green side up and the servers will keep coming to your table with various different kinds of meats to slice up for you. If your plate gets full or you need a rest to breathe, flip the disk over to it's red side and the servers will stop bringing food. Then when you are ready to chow down again flip it back over to green.

This place strictly employs the "medium rare" style of preparing meat, which to me is the best way. Most of the time though there will be plenty of pieces on the skewers that are more well done and they will make sure to give those pieces to people that want their meat more well done.

I think for the four of us the bill came out to $185 w/tip....yeah OUCH, although two of us ordered sodas which are charged by the bottle and the bottles they give out are the mini-bottles, and we also ordered a dessert. Trust me it is worth it for a one time shot(or annual visit).....you will leave pleased.

Hung over......

It doesn't happen often, but when it does it sucks. Off all places, my stepdaughter's 10th birthday party....lol. It just goes with the territory though. Beer & alchohol......among "other recreational substances" are pretty much a given when all of us get together, and there is usually never a "say when" moment until everyone is too tired to lift their drink or someone gets that moment of clarity and realizes we all have to be up for work the next day......

So I really wanted to call into work today, even moreso once I tried to stand up and get ready for work, but.....but nothing I guess cause I have to actually get started at work, so that's all for now.........

Stuff I geek out about!
